The Forgotten Sense

I feel it on the side of my tounge

and in the cold place in my soul

it drives into my brain

until I lose control

tastes bitter

and cold

and flows over

and spills out of my eyes

I bite my tongue

to fill the place that is so empty

I feel the thick, sticky warm fill my mouth

and leak out of my eyes

the bitter taste

of loss

  1. Spittin’ blood. The kind of loss that makes you bite your tongue, I feel it.
